What’s new in TEFCA 2

More than a year after the first draft of the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) was published, the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) is back with a second draft.
To promote industry connections and an emphasis on curricular relevance, the University of Utah Department of Biomedical Informatics holds industry-sponsored mini-conferences every April and October, called the IAB (Industry Advisory Board) Talks.

Happy 25th to LOINC!

LOINC’s 25th Anniversary was celebrated on February 16, 2019 with a social media blitz of timeline, photo archive and many well wishes from around the world on Twitter and the LOINC Forum.
The year 2019 marks the 250th anniversary since the Scottish physician and professor, William Cullen, published the book “Synopsis Nosologiae Methodicae”. He, and other pioneers in the field of nosology, made it easier for physicians to classify diseases and diagnose patients’ ailments as well as promote early tracking of health outcomes.
Terminologies - critical but often deferred in FHIR application development
