Information Models

The 3M Medical Information Models are in ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation One) format, and are provided in a single ZIP file. The ASN.1 formatted information models are included in the asn.1 directory. These information models are also provided in HTML format in the html directory for convenience.

ASN.1 is a joint standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T). Descriptions and tutorials of the ASN.1 standard are available at the following websites:
