When to use LOINC® specialist reviews

Many laboratory test panels include an expert review for overall interpretation as one of the results returned. Instead of a pathologist or medical director, other specialists could be called upon to provide the comments. The table below shows the role specific LOINC terms available; they all have the property of IMP (impression), timing of Point in Time (Pt), specimen XXX meaning unknown (or to be specified elsewhere), and scale of Narrative (Nar), with no method (methodless). Thus, we show only the LOINC code and the component.
