Katie Kitchen, CPC, LRT began her career in 1997 as an Orthopedic Radiology technician in Fullerton California. After receiving her CPC from AAPC in 2005, Katie went on to work as a Medical coder for large billing company specializing in Radiology, Orthopedic surgery, and Vascular surgery. She served her last three years as the supervisor of the coding department overseeing the CodeAssist application. Following, Katie worked as a physician educator in E/M documentation with St Jude Heritage Healthcare before joining the 3M team as a Coding Analyst in 2013. Katie’s efforts on the CA team were focused on education for clients and physicians in clinical documentation improvement as well as development of NLP for improved Computer Assisted Coding. She joined the HDD team in 2021 to work as a Clinical Analyst.

The Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) is part of the Medicare Quality Payment Program (QPP).
